Theater Minor

Theater minors are vital contributors to the theater program who are actively involved in production and student activities. The flexible theater minor at the University of Portland allows students the opportunity to practice the art of theatre and be involved in productions, while still following their chosen career path.

The coursework for the minor includes Introduction to the Art of Theater (THTR 207) and 16 upper division credits

  • Required Courses: Survey of Theater History (THTR 307), an acting course (THTR 321 or 325), Theatre Crafts (THTR 350) and a one-credit practicum (THTR 372)
  • Design Elective (THTR 351, 353, or 363)
  • Theory Elective (THTR 333, 400, 427, 450)
