Music Club

The Music Club at the University of Portland provides a plethora of music and art activities in the Portland area. It provides students with information of exciting arts in the Portland area at great discounted student prices.

Music Club has attended events at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall for Oregon Symphony performances, and Keller Auditorium for Broadway shows and Operas, such as La Boheme. Other performances include Sweeney Todd, Legends of Swing, La Traviata, and Spring Awakening

Not only do we have off campus opportunities, but we also provide events on campus. Throughout the semester, there is the possibility for jam sessions, or "Music at Midnight" events in the Mago Hunt Recital Hall. Music lovers from all over the campus will gather to share in food, fun, laughs, and, most importantly, MUSIC! Prepare to perform or simply enjoy the music that others have prepared to share with the group. Anyone is welcome to bring in any instrument or song and snacks are provided.

Music Club is not just for music majors, but for lovers of all varieties of arts. Being part of Music Club is also a great way to meet other students interested in music and art performances.

Theater Club

The Theater Club on Campus is a great way for students to be involved in the decisions made by the department, and to create our own productions. This group is open to anyone who wants to be involved, whether you're a major, minor, or just a friend of the department.  The club performs completely student-run musicals in years when the Theater Department does not put on a musical.

Have you been told you're funny? Maybe just funny looking? Do you have a friend crush on Jimmy Fallon? Dream of becoming Tina Fey? Then the improv club is the place to be.

The Bluffoons are UP's comedy improv troupe, and we are all about laughs. We do practices twice a week and shows every Friday, a beach retreat and a competition and conference in Seattle. We are comprised of students from many majors, ages, backgrounds, and skillsets. Never done improv before? Don't worry; improv is for everyone! Come learn how with us.

Come practice with us on Tuesday's and Thursdays from 10:00pm-midnight at Mago Hunt Recital Hall!
