You might remember her, or her voice, from her previous roles as Jenny in The Christians, Marcy in Dog Sees God, Wren in Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche, The Hotel Manager in Interlude, Tori in The Guest, and Juliet/The Magician/The Silly Shepard in The Public. When not making an absolute fool of herself on the stage (or through Zoom), she enjoys making art, reading, and playing board games with her friends. Madison loved being a part of this hilarious production and bringing this classic game to life. She hopes you enjoy this wild show as much as she did and can figure out who done it.

Some of her favorite past roles include Ellie Blake in Freaky Friday, an actor in The Laramie Project and Allana in The Little Mermaid. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Headshot of Aidan Broderick

Aidan Broderick (Mr. Boddy/Hank Cuffs/Barry D. Hatchet) is an undeclared first year from San Mateo, CA. His recent roles include Kenneth in Interlude, Jack in Lord of the Flies, and Ren in Footloose. Aidan is very grateful to be able to take part in the theatre program here at UP, despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19. Aidan wouldn't be where he is today without those close to him, who encourage him every day to keep going, and he would like to give a shoutout to all those on and off the stage who helped make this production possible.

Headshot of Aidan Brown

Aidan Brown (Colonel Mustard) is a junior Theater major from Castle Rock, CO. Aidan is excited to finally be back on his feet acting again, even if it means interacting with his partners through a screen! He’s been acting ever since he was in the second grade, and hopes to continue it through after college. His last performed show he was a part of was Inventing van Gogh where he played Bouchard/Gauguin, before that it was Doctor Faustus, where he played the Good Angel. He’s had previous roles in Arsenic and Old Lace as Mortimer and in Fiddler on the Roof he was Lazar Wolf. He’d like to dedicate this performance to actors anywhere who’ve been down and unmotivated because of the pandemic.

Director's Note by Jesi Robison

Going into this year, knowing it would be my last year at UP, I knew that I wanted to leave a lasting impact that in some way encompassed my time here, but also stayed true to who I am as a person. In all the roles I’ve played as an actor in my life, I’ve generally been some form of comedic relief. In my friend groups, I try to be that comedic relief as well, someone who takes the dark and heavy out of the situation by bringing in some light. I like to laugh at things and I fully believe with all my heart that there are times and situations that need to be taken seriously, but as Ren from Footloose would say, “There is a time to dance” and I believe there is always a time to laugh. When I found out I would be doing something on zoom, I knew I didn’t want to fight with the medium, I wanted to make fun of it. I wanted to laugh at how ridiculous it is that we are “the most connected we’ve ever been,” and yet are all in our own worlds, and all of our “rules” are different. I didn’t want to hide our limitations, I wanted to play with them, and that is what we tried to do. With this show, I’m really happy that I got to provide a sort of comedic relief for our department and our community. I was lucky enough to get to work with an entire team that fills me with a bubble of light on a day-to-day basis, even if I don’t get to touch them or see their whole selves. Going into my capstone I didn’t know how much I didn’t know about trying to direct something online or how to make art in this new medium of theatre. But through this process, I learned a lot about patience and a lot about letting go of the things that you can’t control. Because I think sometimes it feels like we are all just game pieces being moved around by some storyteller who keeps switching the rules on us. Sometimes it works out in our favor, but other times it feels like there’s a cruel joke being played on us, and we are the only ones who get hit with a chandelier.  This show filled me with light, laughter, and a lot of relief. So, I hope that it can provide anyone and everyone who gets a chance to see it, with even just a fraction of the happiness that it has brought me. I hope we made you laugh, and I hope that you had a little bit of the heavy lifted off your heart. Thank you all for playing with me.

I would like to thank:

Dr. Lezlie Cross - my actual emotional and mental support person and sanity protector

Haley Hamilton, Olivia Sloss, and Jordan Fabris - my actual backup cops and licensed huggers

Jackson Bulger, Emmy Christopherson, Mikelle Kelly - for pushing through their own senior-itis and helping me with mine

Natalie Davis - for managing my entire existence

Savannah Baird & Lily Grey Rudge - for being the best and always being willing to take anything on

All my actors - for giving me their talent, brilliance, and trust

Maddie Southard - for transporting us into the game board

Sue & Gregory - for bringing the characters to life

Special Thanks

Hal Logan, David De Lyser, Father Mark Ghyselinck, Larry Larsen
