German Studies with Language Concentration

Requirements : 

27 upper-division credits in German (courses 300-level or above). For course descriptions and more details on major requirements, see the Bulletin.


Pathway A – Accelerated sequence, with year-long Salzburg program
Freshman year: GRM 105 / 207 (6 credits per semester)
Sophomore year in Salzburg: GRM 311 / 312 (6 upper-division credits)
Junior year: Fall GRM 301 and 353 / Spring GRM 302 and 354 (12 upper-division credits)
Summer after junior year: GRM 391 or DAAD summer course (3 or more upper-division credits)
Senior year: GRM 4xx / 4xx (6 upper-division credits)
 
Pathway B – Starting at 200-level, with year-long Salzburg program
Freshman year: GRM 201 / 202
Sophomore year in Salzburg: GRM 311 / 312 (6 upper-division credits)
Junior year: Fall GRM 301 and 353 / Spring GRM 302 and 354 (12 upper-division credits)
Summer after junior year: GRM 391 or DAAD summer course (3 or more upper-division credits)
Senior year: GRM 4xx / 4xx (6 upper-division credits)
 
Pathway C – Starting at 200-level, with semester study abroad program
Freshman year: GRM 201 / 202
Sophomore year: GRM 301 / 302 (6 upper-division credits)
Junior year: Fall (or spring) semester on IES program in Germany or Austria (15 upper-division credits)
Senior year: GRM 4xx / 4xx (6 upper-division credits)
 
Pathway D – Starting at 300-level, with semester study abroad program

Sophomore year: GRM 353 / 354 (6 upper-division credits)
