Pathways to a German Studies Minor

The German Studies minor is designed for students who want to achieve practical and culture-based proficiency in German to broaden their horizons and meet the increasing demand for people with world language skills and intercultural competence.

Learning Outcomes for the German Studies Minor

Students completing the German Studies minor will be able to:

1. Communicate, in speaking and writing, with speakers of German about a variety of social, cultural, and historical topics.
2. Comprehend a variety of written and spoken texts (e.g., literature, journalism, podcasts, films) for content and social, cultural, and historical significance.
3. Demonstrate curiosity, appreciation, and discernment of different and similar cultural practices.

Prerequisites - 12 credit hours

12 lower-division credit hours in German courses or equivalent.
