The physics department is home to a state-of the art quantum optics research laboratory, as well as a modern optics teaching laboratory.
Physics majors gain valuable experience working closely with faculty mentors on undergraduate research in the areas of quantum optics, atomic physics, material science, and science education.
The physics B.S. degree is excellent preparation for graduate school in physics, industrial physics, and engineering, as well as an excellent pre-professional degree program for students interested in pursuing medical school, law school, or a master of arts in teaching program.
