2024 Undergraduate Research and Internship Symposium

UP winners

53 UP students successfully presented their work at the first annual Undergraduate Research and Internship Symposium. The Symposium highlighted the outstanding contributions of undergraduate students in research and internships across several departments and provided a platform for students to showcase the results of their hard work and dedication over the past spring and summer. 

Many CAS students participated in the event, and four students won awards. Ihlara Williamson received the Sigma Xi Audience Choice Award in Math. William Merritt won the same award for Biology. Ainsley Henry was awarded the Sigma Xi Audience Choice Award for Math Minors. Eliason Kabasenche and Tara Moore both earned the Sigma Xi Audience Choice Award in Psychology. Additionally, Julianna Pedone was honored as Intern of the Year.  

The symposium celebrated the remarkable achievements of CAS students, both inside and outside the classroom. Moreover, it highlighted the depth of undergraduate research and internship experiences at UP as well as recognizes the significant contributions students are making in their respective fields.
