Student Resources

When you study in International Languages and Cultures, you will find many resources that can help you meet your goals. The department works closely with the University's study abroad programs to maximize students' exposure to their target languages and cultures. We also work with students who seek to do internships in their selected language. Graduates and seniors in the department have a strong track record of obtaining grants to continue their studies abroad.

Language Tutors in the Learning Commons in BC 163

The ILC hires student language tutors to support students' participation in Chinese, French, German and Spanish classes. These assistants tutor students one on one and in groups, and they make recommendations on how student can improve their work. Students can contact language assistants by using our language tutor resources. Give it a try, and you'll see an improvement in your language learning and skills!

Language Resources through the Clark Library

The Clark Library offers many resources to support your language learning!

UP has a subscription to Kanopy, an online streaming service that includes hundreds of foreign-language films. Additionally, UP has Subject Guides—compilations of resources from dictionaries to podcasts to grammar practice to data bases—for each of the languages taught at UP (and more!). You can find the Subject Guide for International Languages here: https://libguides.up.edu/international
