Pathways to Spanish Major
Requirements:
27 hours (including 6 hours study abroad). For course descriptions and more details on major requirements, see the Bulletin.
Pathway A
- Freshman year: SPN 201/202
- Sophomore year: SPN 301/302
- Junior year: Study abroad in Granada in fall semester (16-19 credits) plus SPN 450 or 451
- Senior year: SPN 330, 331, 340, or 440 (if taking credits in Granada).
Pathway B
- Freshman year: SPN 201/202
- Sophomore year: SPN 301/302 plus six weeks study abroad in Spain or Ecuador (6 credits)
- Junior year: SPN 330, 331, 340, or 440, SPN 450 or 451, and one elective from SPN #xx or 4xx
- Senior year: Two electives from SPN 3xx or 4xx.
Pathway C
- Freshman year: SPN 201/202 plus six weeks study abroad in Spain or Ecuador (6 credits): SPN 302 and 391.
- Sophomore year: SPN 330, 331, 340, or 440, and SPN 450 or 451
- Junior year: Three electives from SPN #xx or 4xx
- Senior year: Two electives from SPN 3xx or 4xx
Pathway D
- Freshman year: SPN 301/302 (6 upper-division credits)
- Sophomore year: SPN 330, 331, 340 or 440 plus spring or fall semester in Granada (16-19 credits)
- Junior year: SPN 450 or 451 (The major is completed in the junior year)
Pathway E
- Freshman year: SPN 308 and SPN 330, 331, 340, or 440.
- Sophomore year: SPN 450 or 451 plus fall or spring semester in Granada (16-19 credits)
- Junior year: SPN upper-division elective course.
