Hsiao-Yun Shotwell has been teaching beginning to advanced Mandarin Chinese language and culture courses and received several grants in developing and enriching Chinese programs. She has presented in several national-wide conferences and workshops in methodology in teaching Chinese. Currently, she is the curriculum and program coordinator for the Chinese program at UP. She enjoys working with language learners with any proficiency levels and likes to bring the target culture to classroom. Her interests are in second language acquisition, teaching methods, neuro-lingustics and community-based learning. In her free time, she enjoys jogging, reading, biking and walking her dog.
