Mathematical Association of America
The University of Portland Department of Mathematics is a departmental member of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The MAA is the world’s largest community of mathematicians, students, and enthusiasts. This society seeks to further the understanding of our world through mathematics because mathematics drives society and shapes our lives.
MAA members include university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; STEM professionals, and many others in academia, government, business, and industry. Our departmental membership includes student membership for an unlimited number of nominated full-time enrolled mathematics students and MAA Membership for one faculty member (who will act as the Departmental Membership Administrator).
