Internships

Sociology students may enroll in a one-semester, three-credit internship in a field placement where they gain experience in settings using sociology every day. Internships might involve experiences applying sociology in business, research, school, or social service settings.

Examples of the types of placements where students undertake internships include: Clark Co. Juvenile Court, Columbia Boys & Girls Club, OHSU Children's Psych Day Treatment, Portland Impact, West Women's & Children's Shelter, Healthy Start, Bradley Angle House, Multnomah Co. Aging Services, Boys and Girls Aide Society, Pettygrove House, Oregon Dept. of Voc. Rehab, Multnomah Co. Sheriff Dept., Women in Transition, Self Enhancement, Boys and Girls Aide Society, School Program, Boys and Girls Aide Society, Maternity Program, Multnomah County Juvenile Department, Multnomah County Adult Probation and Parole.
