Queerness in the Shadow of the Holy Cross – A CHIRP Lab Working Group Podcast

The Collaborative Humanities Investigating Religion and Power (CHIRP) lab working group on religion, gender, and sexuality is in the midst of a research project on the intersections of gender, sexuality, and faith identity formation. As part of our research, we have a podcast where students and alumni share their experiences. We are also using those interviews and more for a research study exploring these intersections theologically.

This podcast investigates the intersections of the LGBTQIA+ experience, Catholicism, and faith formation. We utilize personal stories of students, alumni, and affiliates of Catholic education to explore queer experiences of faith. As part of broader qualitative research, this podcast captures some of our data so we can share it with you! We hope this podcast is both a resource for queer people exploring faith, and a message to leaders of Catholic education institutions.

Queerness in the Shadow of the Holy Cross is a product of undergraduate research at University of Portland through the Collaborative Humanities Investigating Religious Power Lab.
