Awards

All students who are history majors or minors are invited to attend the annual history awards ceremony held on Founders Day in the spring. Several awards exist to recognize history students who have attained high distinction in their work.

The Reverend Joseph Powers Senior Prize in History is awarded each year to a senior with the best academic record at graduation, including GPA and quality of senior thesis.

The James T. Covert Leadership Award in History is awarded to the senior who has done the most to support the study of history at the university through hard work and motivation of others.
