Murdock College Science Research Program at UP

The University of Portland is pleased to offer funding from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust. The Murdock College Science Research Program (MCSRP) provides a summer research experience for undergraduate science majors at the University of Portland. Six faculty members have been selected to each work with two students in a 10-12 week long program of intensive research activity. This is a full time commitment for students as well as faculty members. Student participants will prepare poster presentations or oral presentations to be given at the annual undergraduate research conference sponsored by the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust.

Student participants will receive a $3,500 stipend and on-campus housing at the University of Portland. There will be weekly talks and larger group meetings, as well as intensive work with a faculty mentor. Funding for summer research is intended to provide opportunities for students to begin projects they will continue to carry out during the following academic year.
