Minor Requirements
Learning Outcomes for Ethnic Studies Minors
Ethnic studies graduates of the University of Portland should be able to:
- Articulate an understanding of how categories of race and ethnicity have been constructed.
- Articulate how the categories of race and ethnicity have been used in at least two different historical, geographical, and spatial contexts.
- Demonstrate understanding of the histories, aesthetics, science, politics, or cultures produced by traditionally marginalized groups through describing the relevance of at least one such product to their own lived (or life) experience.
Capstone Experience
Students pursuing an ethnic studies minor will participate in an Ethnic Studies Capstone at the end of their course of study.
