Theology: Learning Outcomes
The Theology Major is designed to provide the following learning goals and outcomes:
Outcome #1
Demononstrate an understanding of the content and methodologies of the major sub-disciplines of Catholic theology.
Indicators of Achievement - Graduates will have the ability to:

Indicators of Achievement - Graduates will have the ability to:
- Explain the major sub-disciplines of Catholic theology.
- Examine issues through the lenses of each of the sub-disciplines.
Outcome #2
Demonstrate an
understanding of how these sub-disciplines inform and support one another.
Indicators of Achievement - Graduates will have the ability to:
- Approach a particular issue through the combined lenses of two or more of these sub-disciplines.
Outcome #3
Demonstrate a
theological understanding of the ethical aspects of both individual and social actions.
Indicators of Achievement - Graduates will have the ability to:
- Write essays that examine the ethical side of human actions in a manner that is coherent, analytical, and theologically reflective.
Outcome #4
Demonstrate an
understanding of religious faith.
Indicators of Achievement - Graduates will have the ability to:
- Discern the place of faith in one’s own life.
- Discern the place of faith in the lives of others.
