Performing & Fine Arts: Production of Fine Arts
There are six month-long exhibits each year at the art gallery located on the main floor of the Buckley Center. The department of Performing and Fine Arts sponsors six local artists each year: two exhibits present paintings, drawing, or other two-dimensional art forms; two exhibits present three-dimensional art and another two present photographic images.
All of these exhibits are free and open to the public and many of the featured artists have the pieces on display for sale. Due to the openness and situation of the gallery, the artist’s works are seen by hundreds of people each day. The gallery is perfect for strolling through and perusing at the leisure of the viewer.
At the end of each semester, students who have participated in the fine arts courses at the University of Portland present works in the gallery. Each student exhibits one piece of work, which will remain on display in the gallery for one month.
The University also offers a variety of fine arts courses each semester.
