Saturday, March 20, 1:30 p.m., Buckley Center Auditorium—NUCL (Northwest Undergraduate Conference on Literature) Keynote Address — Ben Saunders, Associate Professor of English at the University of Oregon, specializes in the poetry and drama of the English Renaissance. His published work explores the intersection of spirituality and sexuality during the period, alongside larger questions of literary hermeneutics. His 2006 book, Desiring Donne: Poetry, Sexuality, Interpretation was a finalist for the 2007 Oregon Book Award for General Non-Fiction, and he has co-edited Rock Over The Edge: Transformations in Popular Music Culture (2002). In the Fall of 2009, Professor Saunders curated an exhibition of comic-book art at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum titled "Faster than a Speeding Bullet: The Art of the Superhero."
